Steps to consider while painting
1. DECIDE YOUR APPROACH
The styling is the most important factor that gives the emotion of the room. The most common and aesthetic approach would be styling 3 walls with the primary colour and the Master Wall with the Master Colour. In addition, the ceiling can be given a contrast to create a vivid and dynamic pattern.
2.PICK YOU COLOUR
Colour is the most prime parameter to be considered while painting rooms of homes. Each room can be set with a bright/ dark shade based on the choice of the client. A bright colour sets the room apart from the others by giving it a very bright and majestic appearance in the lowest lighting possible. Users also choose dark shades with a custom lighting that illuminates the chamber.
3. TOOLS & PRODUCTS
The most common tools in a painting kit are paint, paint rollers, paint brushes, paint roller extension pole, sandpaper, masking tape, paint tray, rags, cotton canvas drop cloth and putty knife/ blades. The right tool gives the painter the ease to finish the work in the minimum time possible. The tools also come in varied qualities depending on the type of finish needed. The painter must come across the right tool in order to give the painting a pleasing and appealing finish.
4. QUANTITY OF PAINT
Coverage of the paint and the surface conditions of the wall play a vital role in the estimation of the quantity of the paint that is to be used. A well finished wall always gets the most coverage with respect to the Dry Film Thickness of the paint along with its coverage.
The room must be prepared well before painting since the paint can stick to various surfaces like sofas, floors, etc creating undesired damages. The wall must be well plastered and well finished. Finishing can be done with various methods depending on the budget of the client, the most common being Wall Putty.
6. PAINTING TECHNIQUE
Appropriate tools are to be used and proper painting. The painting shall be unidirectional in order to avoid marks by application. Masking tapes are to be used to give paint trims and for sharp finishes.
Rooms must be properly ventilated in order to avoid unpleasant smell, headaches and nausea. It also helps in quicker drying of the applied paint.
